[edit] Welcome!
- Here are some extra tips to help you get around Wikipedia:
- If you want to play around with your new Wiki skills, try the Sandbox.
- Click on the Edit button on a page, and look at how other editors did what they did.
- Always give a short explanation of your edits in the edit-summary box.
- You can sign your name using four tildes, like this: ~~~~. Always sign comments on Talk pages, never sign Articles.
- You might want to add yourself to the New User Log
- If your first language isn't English, try Wikipedia:Contributing to articles outside your native language
- Full details on Wikipedia style can be found in the Manual of Style.

[edit] Edit summaries
The point about edit summaries above is important; it's regarded as a courtesy to other editors to say what you've done (and why). Long explanations can be placed at articles' Talk pages. --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 11:59, 5 February 2007 (UTC)
When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:
The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.
Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field, especially for big edits or when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you. --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 18:47, 5 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] License tagging for Image:Boruc.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Boruc.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
