I reverted most of your rewrite of the lead of smoking. While it was appropriate to mention the addictive nature of many drugs that are smoked, your wording smacked of a political agenda. Please keep in mind that describing something that you might not approve of in words that are not overtly negative does not mean that it's positive, only that it's not negative.
