Obukhovo

Obukhovo is a small town in Noginsk, Moscow Region located 26 km from Moscow. Population: 11,170 (2007 Census). Founded in 1573.

The town is divided into two halves by the highway Moscow - Nizhny Novgorod. There are two rivers in the settlement such as the Klyazma and the Shalovka. The settlement until 2002 core enterprises were sand pit and two carpet factory (Obukhovskie carpets). Bankruptcy factories led to their closure. In August last Saturday celebrated the settlement day.

1 January 2006 Obukhovo officially became a part of the urban settlements Obukhovo (together with Balobanovo village).
