[edit] Plot Details

Faith gets an earful from her daughter for not being around, and discovers that Emily's decision not to attend her mother's promotion ceremony was calculated to drive home a point about all the events Faith missed over the years.
Captain Finney threatens to blow Sasha's cover if she doesn't get the goods on Cruz.
John Sullivan and Sasha receive a 911 call from a domestic abuse couple, but when they notice a blood mark in the roof, they go and investigate. There they find a decomposing cadaver of a young man, and Sully teaches Brendan Finney a lesson about the less glamorous aspects of his job.
Starting her career as a detective by partnering up with Jelly, Faith is told by him that new detectives are in charge of making coffee. She is in charge of the suicide case Sully and Sasha found. Jelly doesn't further investigate the case, dismissing it as the usual suicidal people, but Faith decides to further investigate. Several tapes were found at the dead man's house, and Faith starts watching them. She soon discovers one is missing, a very important one. Upon finding it, she discovers that this man was actually in love with a school teacher, and plans on killing her with a mail bomb. The man had drawings of a red headed woman standing in front of a United States flag, which leads her to go to a school. The bomb was already in her hands, but Faith manages to save a very shocked teacher, and also saves the children who were surrounding her.
Grace Foster repeteadly teases Carlos Nieto about dating Holly, after expressing interest in the new police man, Brenda Finney.
Meanwhile, Officer Davis tries and fails to get more information from an uncooperative Sully after Brendan tells Ty that their fathers and Sully once worked together; Sasha and Ty resolve their differences and make a date to spend the evening together, but their discovery in the station house dumpster of a body wearing a note addressed to Miller casts a pall on their plans for the evening.
