Obstacles on the Taunton Stop Line near Donyatt, OS reference ST342140

A long row of anti-tank posts, each about 8 inches square and projecting about 6 feet. Made from reinforced concrete. The posts are placed at an angle approximatly 90° to the sloping ground and slope towards the expected direction of attack.

At the top of a steep railway cutting, on the eastern side. Intended to halt the slow progress of enemy tanks attempting to climb up the steep side of the cutting and out of the railway track.
