I am relatively new to Wikipedia as well, but let me welcome you as an editor (there is an official welcome from Wikipedia, but I don't know how to do it). I appreciate your edit to the article Theology of the Cross. However, Wikipedia articles should strive for a neutral point of view and verifiability. Statements like "naively assumes" and "The truth lies somewhere" are statements of your opinion, and should be left out. Unreferenced statements like "Some Catholics believe" are not verifiable. Information about what a particular doctrine means for modern Christians, while important, is devotional, not encyclopedic.

Again, I appreciate your input on the article. Please do not let this discourage you from continuing to contribute to wikipedia.

Obenschain welcome to Wikipedia. Before you start doing a lot of editing, you might want to take the Tutorial. It gives a lot of basic info you'll want to get you oriented on Wikipedia. You can also play around in the Wikipedia:sandbox for some practice. When I was getting started, I found it helpful to read up on the Wikipedia 5 Pillars

You can sign your name on talk pages by using three tildes (" ~~~ ") for your username and four (" ~~~~ ") for your username and a timestamp.
