Oaxaca class patrol vessel

Oaxaca Class are Offshore Patrol Vessel, constructed by and for the Mexican Navy. It has a length of 86.00 metres (282 ft), draft of 3.60 metres (11.8 ft) and B of 10.5 metres (34.4 ft), having a load of 1680 metric tons.[1] It has on an OTO Melara 76 mm naval gun , and a couple of Oto Melara 12.7mm on each side. It holds in the after deck a helipad for a variety of helicopters such as Eurocopter Panther, Eurocopter Fennec 565, or Bolkow-B-105 super five. It has a cruise speed of 20 knots, with a crew of 77, and a group of 39 special forces and/or marines for a variety of missions.
For the year 2008, the Congress had approved funds to build 2 more ships Oaxaca Class,$68 million dollars, and $40 million in 2009. With these funds, the Mexican Navy will increase the fleet of this OPV´S.
Currently are two of these ships in operation.
