[[1]]Oakland Point, terminus of the first transcontinental railroad (and one of the most intact victorian districts in the state), was a thriving socially and ethnically mixed neighborhood from the start.

Today it’s experiencing a rush of development and refurbishment.

A community organization, Prescott-Oakland Point Neighborhood Association (POPNA)[2] has evolved from the Oakland Point area which boundaries are defined as Mandela Parkway (East), 7th street (South), West Grand (North), Army Base (West) encompassing "central station development".
