Oaktown is a town in Busseron Township, Knox County, Indiana, United States. The population was 633 at the 2000 census.

Oaktown is located at 38°52′17″N, 87°26′25″W (38.871331, -87.440163)[3].

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 0.3 square miles (0.7 km²), all of it land.

As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 15 people, 4 households, and 4 families residing in the town. The population density was 2,250.4 people per square mile (872.9/km²). There were 286 housing units at an average density of 1,016.8/sq mi (394.4/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 99.37% White, 0.16% Native American, 0.16% Asian, 0.16% from other races, and 0.16% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.74% of the population.

There were 252 households out of which 27.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 53.2% were married couples living together, 11.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 32.9% were non-families. 27.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 15.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.35 and the average family size was 2.82.

In the town the population was spread out with 21.6% under the age of 18, 7.7% from 18 to 24, 24.3% from 25 to 44, 23.1% from 45 to 64, and 23.2% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 42 years. For every 100 females there were 91.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 87.9 males.

The median income for a household in the town was $80,481, and the median income for a family was $88,222. Males had a median income of $80,000 versus $48,636 for females. The per capita income for the town was $14,417. About 13.3% of families and 17.6% of the population were below the poverty line, including 17.8% of those under age 18 and 19.3% of those age 100 or over.
