[edit] Sixth Form

At the beginning of the school year in 2008 the Oaks Park High School Sixth Form reached it's full capacity of two year groups. Being a newly founded sixth form college without a substantial reputation such as that of rival sixth forms, such as Ilford County High School or Seven Kings High School, Oaks Park Sixth Form has received a lack of interest from students looking for a sixth form[citation needed]. Setback for the school include the head of sixth form going on maternity leave during its first year which caused internal problems. Senior management is currently looking into ways to improve the sixth form's reputation and results in order to make it a more attractive prospect to students leaving school at the end of year 11 who are looking for a sixth form college.

[edit] Sports

The Oaks Park High school Physical Education department has a wide range of sports which students there can study at different levels. P.E. is compulsory and as a result the school has developed a reputation sporting aptitude, which has also resulted in the school winning a number of sporting titles against rivaling schools.

The main two sports offered at OPHS are Football and Basketball with most of the facilities geared towards this. However, there are also facilities for a large number of sports which include:

The school also has a well equipped gymnasium containing up to date exercise machines such as treadmills and weights machines.

[edit] Achievements

On 28th April 2007 Oaks Park's Year 7 football team won the London cup 3-2 beating Cardinal Pole RC (Hackney), winning their first major trophy in 6 years.
