Oakland Catholic High School, referred to by students as OC, is a private, Roman Catholic college preparatory school for girls located in the Oakland district of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA. It is a part of the Diocese of Pittsburgh. It was established by Bishop Donald Wuerl in 1989 as the merger of former all-girl parish high schools of Sacred Heart and St. Paul Cathedral. Approximately 500 students matriculate at Oakland Catholic and the school draws female students from all over the City of Pittsburgh as well as the suburbs. The Oakland Catholic education fosters academic excellence, individual awareness, and spiritual development in young women. Nearly 98% of its students attend four-year universities.
Oakland Catholic High School is currently undergoing construction, the first phase of which should be finished for the 2008-2009 school year. Until that time, the classes are held in the places: the Joan of Arc building, the main building, and the trailers.
In 2006, the Oakland Catholic Eagles defeated the Mt. Lebanon Blue Devils to win the WPIAL Quad-A basketball title.
