Oakbrook Academy of Music and Art is a performing arts school in Illinois which opened in the early 90's. They offer music instruciton in Piano, pre-school Piano, Voice, Violin, Percussion and Guitar. Also video editing and recording studio classes are offered in the state of the art recording studio on site. The second largest facet of OA is the Drama Program which offers a full drama curriculum starting at age 7. Beyond the classes, the Academy produces up to 6 full scale shows a year including a broadway musical in the spring, a musical in the summer, a fall play, and winter one-acts. There are also several black box theatre shows that are performed each year and various pre-school and adult drama programs offered.
The last musical produced was Ahrens and Flaherty's Broadway Musical Once on This Island. The upcoming spring musical is the much anticipated Disney's Beauty and the Beast.
