[edit] Points of interest
In its eastern part (between Michigan Avenue and Rush Street), Oak Street is one of Chicago's most prestigious shopping destinations. Unlike nearby Magnificent Mile, which features upscale chain stores and large department stores, it is known for its exquisite boutiques.
Further east it lies between Oak Street Beach and the East Lake Shore Drive Historic District.
Luxury stores on the street include Prada, Barneys New York, Hermes, Tod's, Yves Saint Laurent, Kate Spade, Jil Sander, Loro Piana, Furla, calypso, Judith Ripka, Frette, Marina Rinaldi, Luca Luca, Graff Diamonds, Harry Winston, Vera Wang, Wolford Boutique, Me&Ro, A pea in the pod, ACA All Custom Attire, AG Jeans, Diesel, BCBG Max Azria, Bang & Olufsen and Chicago's own Ultimo. There are also numerous high-end salons on Oak Street.
