[edit] History
Oak Forest High School opened in 1971 as a remedy to the excessively high numbers of students attending the three other existing high schools in the district.
Construction to the building in the summer of 2005 created a new Instructional Materials Center(IMC), which serves as media lab and library. Additionally, the interior of the building was re-structured to allow for more classroom space, a move towards solving the approaching five-year deadline of the outdoor portable classroom mobile units (commonly referred to as the "trailers").
[edit] Sports
Oak Forest High School offers and extensive athletic program. Sports include men's and women's soccer, basketball, swimming, track, cross-country, tennis, bowling, volleyball, and golf as well as wrestling, football, cheerleading, and poms. IHSA sports are seasonal
The building houses two gymnasiums. A large gym hosts most indoor athletics while a smaller gym is used for primarily for wrestling. Both facilities have locker rooms.
A lit track, football field, soccer field, tennis courts, and two baseball fields make up the school's grounds.
