Stop taking out necessary commas.
Believe what you want...I do actually teach English.
Stop taking out the necessary commas after the states.
"...to run from Savannah, Georgia north to Augusta, Georgia and Knoxville, Tennessee."
is grammatically incorrect.
"...to run from Savannah, Georgia, north to Augusta, Georgia, and Knoxville, Tennessee."
is the correct usage.
"...to run from Savannah, Georgia; north to Augusta, Georgia; and Knoxville, Tennessee."
is alos acceptable.
Stop undoing the correction.
However, you point about the bold is taken.

My RfA
Thank you for your support in my recent RfA. However, it was unsuccessful. I am in no way disheartened, and I will hopefully succeed in a month or two. If you have any further suggestions or comments, feel free to drop me a line on my talk page, and I will be happy to respond. Matt/TheFearow (Talk) (Contribs) (Bot) 02:33, 8 July 2007 (UTC)

Question
[1] - What policy says IP addresses can not have user pages? Picaroon (Talk) 18:38, 8 July 2007 (UTC)
- See the meta page on anonymous user. (→zelzany - review) 18:38, 8 July 2007 (UTC)
- It says "disallowed on several wikis," but does not identify the English Wikipedia is one of them. We probably aren't one of those wikis the meta page speaks of, because not only do we regularly tag the user pages of IP addresses with various templates, there are actually several users on static IPs who maintain userpages which bear a resemblance to user pages of accounts. Are there any policy pages here on en which say this? Picaroon (Talk) 18:53, 8 July 2007 (UTC)
- We never tag the userpage, and even more, the userpage should never be tagged in the first place, except if its a redirect to the talk page, which is perfectly acceptable. Rather, we tag the talk page if the user has a WHOIS, block, etc. The use of IP userpages is impractical, because who knows if even a static IP will be reassigned to someone else (like this to this and finally to this). If anything on meta says anything about IP userpages, such as an IP-based user page is generally impractical, it applies everywhere, because meta coordinates all of the Wikimedia projects. If there needs to be any further discussion on this, I'd recommend posting a thread on this village pump, because I'd like to have a third opinion (at least). Well, as You can probably see, this photo was only moved by me from en.wikipedia to Commons. The problem is, that it was originally uploaded on Flickr, so I've choosen this license (is it correct, or I should use a different one for such a images?)
I'm unable to verify the description, but I will ask the original uploader to send the requested documents at the adress you've written about.
I have a favour to ask of You: could You please inform me what will happen with this image on my Polish talk page? I'm only time-to-time commons user. Galileo01 19:11, 9 July 2007 (UTC)

Your rfa
Hey, you know you need at least 75% consensus to pass an rfa, right? You had 88% support. You would have passed. but whatever. J-stan Talk 18:00, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
:Oh wait, you're right. NM. J-stan Talk 18:03, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
- No, I had 67% after the most recent questions. I predicted that the opposing comments were going to rise, and I was right about that. I will, however, run again in four months. (→vishwin60 - soon will be User:O (possibly)) 18:05, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

Hey. I saw you withdrew your RFA. I wish you luck. I would have sent this early, but I've been busy. Good luck! Politics rule 18:32, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
July 2007 GAC backlog elimination drive
A new elimination drive of the backlog at Wikipedia:Good article candidates will take place from the month of July through August 12, 2007. There are currently about 130 articles that need to be reviewed right now. If you are interested in helping with the drive, then please visit Wikipedia:Good article candidates backlog elimination drive and record the articles that you have reviewed. Awards will be given based on the number of reviews completed. Since the potential amount of reviewers may significantly increase, please make sure to add :{{GAReview}} underneath the article you are reviewing to ensure that only one person is reviewing each article. Additionally, the GA criteria may have been modified since your last review, so look over the criteria again to help you to determine if a candidate is GA-worthy. If you have any questions about this drive or the review process, leave a message on the drive's talk page. Please help to eradicate the backlog to cut down on the waiting time for articles to be reviewed.
You have received this message either due to your membership with WikiProject: Good Articles and/or your inclusion on the Wikipedia:Good article candidates/List of reviewers. --Nehrams2020 23:50, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

I-70
I commented out the county header, and will add the counties all at once (and the cities if I can find good maps that show the limits) when I finish the list. I will change the shields. --NE2 19:10, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
- Belated thanks for the shield. --NE2 21:50, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
My Articles/Links
I only put that there as a sort of personal reference to what pages I've contributed. and the links are things i want to remember. Like useful links... --Huper Phuff talk 20:16, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
Well.
I DID NOT personally attack anyone - it was merely an edit with an exasperated comment reminding people to watch their grammar in articles - most of my edits consist of grammar correction. If you have actually seen a defined personal attack, you know that it is MUCH worse than what I "did" (edit and give a summary). 130.39.208.184 20:21, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
But it wasn't a personal attack! The edit had nothing to do with anyone who had edited in the last 100 edit. I don't even know who wrote that. And also, I didn't troll. A trolling is intentional rampage of edit (at least on wikipedia) that are generally vandalism.
Please accuse properly in the future.130.39.208.184 20:26, 13 July 2007 (UTC)

Thanks
Thanks for the award. I sorta got the basic idea for my userpage from WP:Belgrade. Also, you mentioned something about my usebox placeholder could be a little wider. I played around with it and I think I made worse. I was wondering if you wouldn't mind fooling with it. Again, thanks. --Dtbohrertalk•contribs 12:59, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
Minefield Image
The image contains aspects of the Microsoft Windows Vista operating system and as such is not a free screenshot. It is incorrectly on commons and should be removed. Using a screenshot of any aspect of Windows is inherently fair use.-Localzuk(talk) 18:59, 15 July 2007 (UTC)
- Any screenshot that contains Windows or any aspect of the windows GUI is fair use and should be marked as such.-Localzuk(talk) 19:14, 15 July 2007 (UTC)

- OK, the internals of the firefox window use various free frameworks in order to render but the frame around the Firefox window uses the GUI theme provided by MS windows. In some of the shots this is full fledged depiction of the start bar, the topbar and other aspects, and in others it is just the topbar (ie the blue surrounding to the error message you posted before). These aspects are the intellectual property of Microsoft.-Localzuk(talk) 19:45, 15 July 2007 (UTC)

- You have just admitted that microsoft own the copyright of that design - and therefore that means that its use in images, whether or not they come from the code within a program, remains copyright Microsoft. They simply own that design and as such anything containing it has to also be attributed to them.-Localzuk(talk) 16:14, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

- Even that says This screenshot either does not contain parts or visuals of copyrighted programs (emphasis mine). Microsoft Windows and its visual styles are copyright. They are not as a result of the code within Firefox (eg. Mozilla Firefox can be ran on Wine and those visuals are not copyrighted). The theme could easily be a non microsoft theme which is not copyright.-Localzuk(talk) 19:09, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

- No, the titlebar is not part of the code itself. Nowhere in the code will it define exactly how to show that title bar. It will have a call to something else which will create it, that is all. That is what I am saying. A call to an external API (in this case the windows GUI api) does not make that aspect of the program 'part of the code'. It calls a copyrighted set of code which does all the work to display that title bar. Some languages make this so simple that you can do it in a single line of code - that doesn't mean the creation of that titlebar is part of the code. Please show me the code which creates the titlebar in firefox.-Localzuk(talk) 20:30, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

- And all I can see is a variety of calls to external API's in order to get the border/titlebar rendered by windows - not any code to actually interface with the GPU in order to create those parts of the program. The fact is that the code which creates the title bar is owned by Microsoft, the theme which is rendered on that titlebar is owned by Microsoft. Microsoft even have a specific policy discussing what can and can't be done with screensots - including the requirement for attribution.[2]-Localzuk(talk) 21:16, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
