O. A. Cargill was a very prominent lawyer, author and buffalo rancher during Oklahoma's early days. After law school he was active in politics, having been elected mayor of Oklahoma City twice and also serving as Special Chief Justice of the Oklahoma Supreme Court.
Cargill was convicted for perjuring associated with the Oklahoma Supreme Court.[1]
He was grandfather to country music star Henson Cargill.
