[edit] Physical Size
Is the O'Neill class bigger than a Hatak? On screen, it doesn't really seem that much biiger, if it is.
- It might be possible to get an idea of it's size in Unnatural Selection, when comparing it to the Prometheus, but then one would need to know how large the Prometheus was in the first place. -- SFH 01:12, 11 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] O'Neill class battleship withstanding Ori fire
It is incorrect to say only the Asgard ship and the two Earth battlecruisers manage to withstand some direct hits from the Ori. Several Ha'tak vessels have been seen taking fire from the Ori cannons without being destroyed. In the end, Teal'c's vessel survived although it was heavily damaged. However, if you are referring to the Ori main weapon, the Asgard ship was never seen taking a direct shot on screen. Raja Lon Flattery 10:58, 15 October 2006 (UTC)
On a side note, has it been confirmed that it actually was an O'Neill that participated in the battle at the supergate? Based on the apparent size on screen, the ship that participated was not nearly large enough to be an O'Neill, which has been shown on screen to be significantly larger than the Prometheus (which is only marginally smaller than a Daedalus class ship). - With regards to the O'Neill class surviving direct hits from the Ori superlaser, we know that the Tau'ri vessels, which use Asgard shields, could with stand a direct hit. I am also under the imperssion that the BC-304's shields are weaker than a standard Asgard ship due to power requirements (BC-304 using naquadah or whatever, while Asgard ships use neutrino generators). As for the possibility of the ship in Camelot not being an O'Neill class, I'm pretty sure it was one. However, I've never got a decent shot of the ships "floating" side by side. -- SFH 00:56, 1 January 2007 (UTC)
- It is an O'Neill, look at the tail fins. thanks/Fenton, Matthew Lexic Dark 52278 Alpha 771 01:01, 1 January 2007 (UTC)
- The assumption that the 304 shields are weaker due to the lower power generating capabilities of the BC-304 in comparison to Asgard ships would seem to be true. We have seen on several occasions where a 304 that has a ZPM tied into its power systems has substantially more shield capacity. In fact during The Siege the Asgard engineer specifically warns them that the shield capacity will be reduced after they disconnected the ZPM. - OracleGuy01 22:50, 25 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Commissioning
I've removed the decommissioned field from the infobox (going to do the same to the Daniel Jackson, they were not decommissioned per se, and we can not be totally sure that all of them are destroyed. Matthew
[edit] thor in o'neill class ship
i don't remember thor ever actually flying an o'neill class ship. The ship he came to earth with to ask for help during the orilla invasion was a daniel jackson. so i have deleted the part where it said he was flying an o'neill
