DOA For a Day is the fifteenth episode of the fourth season of CSI:NY. Its Original airdate was April 2, 2008, the first episode released after the end of the 2007–2008 Writers Guild of America strike. This is also the continuation from the fifth episode in this season, Down The Rabbit Hole.
This was the follow-up episode to Down the Rabbit Hole. The CSIs get an anonymous report that someone has seen the elusive "Suspect X". They find an abandoned warehouse, and apparently a dead assassin. However, they soon find that she is still alive and watching their every move. It is revealed that the assassin finds clients through the internet, particularly through angry emails. While visiting the club Random, where earlier victims Cheryl Miller and Jonathan O'Dell had planned to meet, the TVs suddenly switch and the Second Life assassin comes on air. She tells the CSIs that they will never be able to find her. Meanwhile in the city, a Green Rally is about to take place, and Mac worries that there may be an attempt on the life of one of the dignitaries scheduled to speak during the rally. They find evidence that she may have been involved in the Green Rally's sound crew. When they investigate the speakers, Danny finds a gun that was aimed at the stage. Adam sets a trap and Mac chases the Suspect X into a construction site. He shoots her in the chest, though she puts up a good chase. The suspect's target was initially thought to be one of the dignitaries involved in the Green Rally, but it was Jordan Gates, the mayor's criminal justice coordinator. [1]
