Nutrient management

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Nutrient management is defined by the United States Environmental Protection Agency as managing the amount, form, placement, and timing of the application of nutrients (whether as animal waste, commercial fertilizer, or other form of nutrients) to plants.[1] The purpose is to supply plant nutrients for optimum forage and crop yields, to minimize the entry of nutrients to surface water and to groundwater, and to maintain and/or improve the condition of soil.
