Nutrexpa is one of the most important business groups in Spain in the food sector. The company is headquartered in Barcelona, and it was set up in the 1940s with a view to producing food which was "tasty and highly nutritious". This is how Granja San Francisco honey and Cola Cao came about. The latter is the Group's reference product and the 3rd in the ranking of the brand's best known products in Spain. La Piara products have formed part of the Nutrexpa range since 1988 when this company was taken over, entering the paté market. In the context of an internationalisation policy after consolidation on the internal market, Nutrexpa expanded to Portugal where it sells the same products as in Spain in view of the proximity and affinity between the two markets, and currently has global business operations around the world.
