Numeric metaphor is a term denoting the hypothetical but often widely believed existence of an entity in addition to a list of known entities. Numeric metaphors are often a product of the press and are prominently displayed in headlines.
Numeric metaphors can also be complimantary titles such as First Lady and Second City.
