[edit] Chemical formula?

Scientist 1986's edit was undone but he raises a good point, what is the chemical formula of nujol? I know it's a mixture but what's it a mixture of exactly? Google is a mess, every time you search for it you get results listing the formula of other chemicals that are put in a nujol mull for that reaction. Simondrake 17:53, 31 January 2007 (UTC)

It is a certain mixture of alkanes, as far as I know. But I don't know the exact composition. --Dirk Beetstra T C 18:16, 31 January 2007 (UTC)
(edit conflict) It's a mixture of (as the article states) "heavy paraffin oils" having various formulas, a non-specific mineral oil.DMacks 18:20, 31 January 2007 (UTC)
