Nueva Galicia

Nueva Galicia ("New Galicia") was a region of New Spain. It was named after Galicia in Spain. In the late 18th century, Nueva Galicia became the colonial Intendencia of Guadalajara. Nueva Galicia consists of the states of Aguascalientes, Colima and Jalisco, and neighbouring parts of Durango, Guanajuato, Michoacán, Nayarit and Zacatecas.
