Nuestra Belleza Latina (Our Latin Beauty) is a beauty contest with a reality-TV twist.

After castings around the United States and Puerto Rico 12 finalists move to Miami and live together where they receive different classes of dancing, runway, diction, teleprompter and physical training. The finalists also compete against each other in different challenges. After the episode of the show is over, the audiences at home get to vote for their favorite contestant by phone or text message. Contestants represent themselves, not their countries, therefore it is allowed to have more than one contestant from the same country or have the same nationality. Week by week the finalist with the lowest votes is eliminated, the winner of the contest wins a contract to be one of the new personality faces on many of Univision's programs and award shows, and a chance to win more than $200,000 in cash and prizes and reign as Nuestra Belleza Latina for a year.

[edit] Nuestra Belleza Latina 2008
The second season of Nuestra Belleza Latina (Our Latin Beauty) premiered on March 2008. Auditions were once again held in five major US cities (Los Angeles, California; Houston, Texas; Miami, Florida; Chicago, Illinois; and New York City, New York) and in San Juan, Puerto Rico. During the audition process, 75 young women were given passes to the semi-finals in Miami, Florida. The elimination process was quick, with 15 women leaving the first week, 40 on the second week, and finally, on March 28, 2008, 8 women were eliminated leaving the 12 finalists who will be moving into a Miami mansion were they will be living together for the rest of the competition. Each week, viewers will have a chance to vote for their favorite finalists. The three women with the least number of votes will then be in danger of being eliminated. However, two of the women in the bottom three will have the chance of being saved, one by her fellow finalists, and the other by the judges.
New episodes of the reality show/beauty pageant aired every Friday at 10PM on the network Univision in the United States and Puerto Rico only.
