Nudging (MS Windows)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This article refers to the Windows Live Messenger tool. For other uses, see Nudge.

Nudging is a tool used by Windows Live Messenger(WLM) users to get the attention of other WLM users. It shakes the conversation window and plays a sound. It is a popular feature, but can also be an annoying one to the recipients of the nudges. After sending a nudge there is a time delay before another one may be sent. The receiving of Nudges can be blocked.

[edit] Hacking

It is possible to change memory values of Windows live Messenger to allow nudges to be sent unlimited with no time delay. This can be done manually with a memory editor such as Cheat Engine or with patching programs such as a-patch. The MSN Messenger clone aMSN allows this to be done without any extra hacks.
