Image talk:Nucleotides v2.png
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I thought a nucleoside was a base and a sugar, and a nucleotide base and a sugar and at least one phosphate group. If this is the case (and other articles agree...) isn't this image incorrect? The list of 4 lines in the bottom right should be:
Nucleoside
NucleoTide
NucleoTide di-phosphate.
etc
... Or something? Even if this is just semantics and a nucleoside mono-phosphate IS a nucletide, it should still be called as such if this image is to be used in the Nucleotide article. 138.38.217.149 (talk) 18:55, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
- I think either usage is acceptable, the IUMBMB talks about "The 5'-mono-, di-, and triphosphates of the common ribonucleosides may be represented by the customary abbreviations exemplified by AMP, ADP, ATP in the adenosine series." in its nomenclature (link). - I totaly agree with 138.38.217.149. In any case: The image is confusing. - Please change the s into t. Thanks and Greets,Saippuakauppias ⇄ 08:53, 27 April 2008 (UTC)
