Nu-Venture
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Nu-Venture is an Aylesford, Kent-based bus & coach company. Established in 1960s as a coach company, Nu-Venture operated coach tour holidays all over Europe.
On UK deregulation of local buses in 1986, local bus operation started with a joint service 58 between Maidstone, West Malling and Trottiscliffe/Ryarsh. Since the 1990s, the fleet and their area of operation has expanded to allow 27 buses to serve Maidstone, Medway and Malling, and from 1/10/2007 Tunbridge Wells, with just 3 coaches now remaining. A number of yellow school buses are also operated in conjunction with First Student and Medway Council serving schools in Rainham, Walderslade and Chatham.
Daily operation of bus service 151 (Medway/Kings Hill) under contract to Kent and Medway Councils commenced April 2008, part-replacing a previous and long-established Nu-Venture commercial operation. This and other Nu-Venture operations serve Chatham Town Centre bus stops in Military Rd, as the bus station is the subject of a long lease from the property's owners, Medway Council, to Arriva.
Nu-Venture now operates a substantial amount low-floor single-deck buses, and a diminishing quantity of new-to-London 1980s Leyland Titans, details of which appear at http://www.busfleets.co.uk
