Electronic cables are laid out at a drill site on the DOE's Nevada Test Site where preparations are underway for an underground nuclear test. The cables will be lowered downhole to relay scientific data to diagnostic trailers at the surface. On the left is an instrumentation tower in which experiments are assembled prior to being lowered downhole.
