[edit] Speedy deletion of Eclerx

A tag has been placed on Eclerx, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia per speedy deletion criterion A7.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the article and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the page's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. Toddstreat1 23:04, 24 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Article deletion

Greetings. I was not involved in the recent speedy deletion of eClerx. I did delete a redirect at that name last year, but that was quite some time before your re-creation. IceKarma 10:41, 25 October 2007 (UTC)

FYI, it is usual practice for an administrator not involved in the deletion discussion to close the discussion and, if consensus is to delete, ultimately delete the article. That's what happened yesterday with Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Eclerx. —C.Fred (talk) 18:28, 1 November 2007 (UTC)
What about the fact that all but one comment on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Eclerx were made before I cited multiple external sources and made some significant changes to the article? It's really frustrating to have your work deleted without much thought.Nshuks7 19:05, 1 November 2007 (UTC)
Which was never mentioned in the AfD discussion. (Tangent: only one source is independent.) Since the only discussion at the AfD was delete, I don't blame the closing admin for not looking closely at the article. If you'd like, I can restore the article into your user space tonight (EDT, GMT-4) so you can work on it further, but before it goes back into main article space, either some drastic changes in the company's notability need to happen, or it needs to go through deletion review. —C.Fred (talk) 19:16, 1 November 2007 (UTC)
Yes, absolutely you can participate in the deletion review discussion. Presumably you'd probably open the case, and then might need to respond to concerns raised by other editors. —C.Fred (talk) 03:28, 2 November 2007 (UTC)
And the article is in userspace now at User:Nshuks7/EclerxC.Fred (talk) 03:32, 2 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Notability of Jim Wadia

A tag has been placed on Jim Wadia requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Kannie | talk 00:23, 25 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Re:Jim Wadia

AfD votes typically last five days. If you can significantly improve the article, or address concerns brought up, the closing admin will typically evaluate the changes, so if you end up seeing several delete !votes, don't feel discouraged and stop trying to improve the article. The more sourced information you can add, the better chance it will stand. Regards, Resolute 00:52, 25 December 2007 (UTC)

I would suggest a personal section would be useful, provided it can be attributed to reliable sources. It looks a lot better, but as with most Wikipedia articles, more is better. I would suggest looking up other CEO biographies for ideas on how to further improve the article. Regards, Resolute 02:36, 25 December 2007 (UTC)

I noticed you signed up for the Finance Project. Welcome! Please let me know if I (or the project) can help you in any way. It's fairly low key, and I do hope we get beyond templates. Smallbones (talk) 22:16, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
