Queen of The Willis is an American animated television series about a mainly transgendered family in the fictional town of Quillsville, Indiana. It was created by Aeverine Nieves for ATE Media. The show uses frequent "episode title parodies”
Queen of The Willis was canceled after the first season on ATE Media stations, but strong large viewership of reruns on INNCD, an internet TV station in Indiana convinced INNCD to resume the show in 2007.

[edit] History of Queen of The Willis
Queen of The Willis' first season was made starting in 2006 after Amanda and Elisa (its predecessor) was cancelled after two seasons in 2005 of the defunct ATE Media during the 2004 Super Bowl commercial. The second season began airing in Autumn 2007, with a third season scheduled to air in the Autumn of 2008.
[edit] Characters
Main article: List of characters from Queen of The Willis
The show revolves around the adventures of Aeverine Willis (voice of Nieves), strongly resembles Claudia from from Amanda and Elisa. Aeverine proudly sells "gifts and gift accessories" as the assistant manager at Craven Gifts. Aeverine is a generally well-meaning father (although she now sounds very feminine since undergoing sexual reassignment surgery in 1999) but is often frustrated and confused by old trends, as well as the antics of her friends and family members. She is uncomfortable with intimacy and sexuality but has a healthy relationship with her wife Angela (voice of Lacey Chaberet), as well as the rest of the Willis family.
Angela, who has a similar accent, is a stay-at-home mom/accounting teacher/accountant, and is a member of the Shanks family of wealthy Homophobia and Transphobia socialites. Aeverine and Angela have two children (eight as of Season three): teenage transgendered daughter Deanna (voice of Abby Terkhune), in some respects a younger version of Aeverine; teenage transgendered son Tom (voice of Pauly Shore), in some respects a younger version of his mother had he not underwent transition from female to male.
Aeverine's trademark vomiting sigh in times of discomfort are running gags on the series. In contrast with her emotional distance with the members of her family, she dotes unashamedly on the family dog Timothy Rags (voiced by Albert Zinn, but dubbed by Nieves--Al's sister), a diabolically evil dog, bent on world domination and the death of his master. Rags speaks fluently and eloquently, with an upper class English accent and stereotypical arch-villain phrases. Occasionally, Rags will act in a stereotypically canine manner, usually for comedic effect (such as biting, barking, and growling).
While other characters can hear and understand Rags, most of his dialogue is ignored or not taken seriously. Heather (the talking pet lobster, also voiced by Nieves) is the only character that regularly interacts with Rags on an intellectual level. Rags refers to his pet parents as "Ava" and "the fat girl" respectively. Heather is anthropomorphized (and similar to Zoidberg of Futurama) in that she walks on two legs, drinks Martinis, owns her own car (Volkswagen Beetle, circa 2001) and engages in human conversation, though she is still considered a pet in many respects. Occasionally, Heather will act in a stereotypically crustacean manner, usually for comedic effect (such as her ability to shoot ink and snaps her claws uncontrollably at foreigners —which she blames on her father's side of the family).

[edit] Episodes
Main article: List of episodes from Queen of The Willis
For most of the series, the writers tried to work the episode title parodies into the title of every episode to make the titles resemble those of King of The Hill and Family Guy.
Some episodes are not aired in full in their initial broadcast because of profanity or pop culture references. Scenes are either re-edited or removed entirely from the episode.
[edit] Crossovers with Amanda and Elisa
The show has periodically featured the inclusion of certain elements from Amanda and Elisa, another animated comedy series created and produced by Aeverine Nieves. As of December 31, 2007, there are none, but there will be after the fourth season.
[edit] Title Sequences
The normal title sequence in Queen of The Willis parodies, in part, King of The Hill with its new generation values. The sequence has had only one change since the first episode in 2006:
Beginning in Season 3, a new sequence will debut on the season premiere on September 5, 2008. A new instrumental theme (Leona Lewis' Bleeding Love) will be the new theme.
[edit] Unique title sequences
Entirely new, single episode title sequences include:
- The three "Road Trip" episodes ("Back Home Again in Indiana,” “Back Home Again in California,” and “Back Home Again in Laos”) – each has instead a sequence of still drawings representing that episode's road trip over an introductory musical fanfare of Beavis and Butthead.
- "Aeverine Gets Leesed" – title sequence replaced with a parody of the series Law & Order.
- “RAGStory” – title sequence replaced by a Quantum Leap opening .
- The “Death Picks....” episodes—each feature the normal QOTW title sequence. However, the episodes show that the main or recurring characters die in the episode.
- The “...With Stupid” episodes—each feature the normal QOTW title sequence. However, the episodes show that the main or recurring characters break the law.
[edit] Celebrity Voices:
In addition, the show has many celebrity appearances, though rarely as themselves. Jeff Gordon, Joseph Kernan, Peyton Manning, John Mellencamp, and former WRTV news anchors, Clyde Lee, with Diane Willis as Aeverine's cousin.
