NRMA-006 Gadeel

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This article is about a fictional weapon from the After War timeline of the anime Gundam metaseries.

In the anime series Gundam X, the Gadeel was the first new mobile armor produced by the New United Nations Earth in the After War era. The Gadeel was designed specifically for aerial combat, but the lack of any significant air forces in opposition to the New UNE resulted in the Gadeel's production run being ended with just 30 units produced. Instead, the New UNE focused its resources on producing the multi-role NRX-009 (NR-001) Valient, a mobile suit which could function on the ground, in the air, and in space with equal effectiveness.

The Gadeel was armed only with a single beam rifle/beam saber, which was mounted on a turret beneath its body. In beam saber mode, a pair of mobile suit-style arms extended out of the Gadeel's engine pods to wield the weapon. Despite this limited armament, the Gadeel's speed and agility made it a superb aerial combatant. Even Witz Sou's GW-9800 Gundam Airmaster had difficulty dealing with Gadeel squadrons, prompting the pilot to upgrade it as the GW-9800-B Gundam Airmaster Burst.
