[edit] Technical

nProtect requires the user to install a browser plugin and a device driver on their computer in order to operate. In the past, the product require ActiveX and Internet Explorer; however, in the recent years, a Netscape-compatible plug-in was released for browsers such as Firefox.[citation needed] The software is likely still Windows only.

However, its convention use lies between popular MMORPGs such as Gunbound, MapleStory, Rakion, Gunz, Ragnarok Online, and etc... It utilizes a form of coding that forces the client of a machine to constantly update revisions from GameGuard. This is to prevent hackers from accessing memory and essentially breaking into a game that it is supposed to protect.

[edit] Privacy

This software is very intrusive by Western standards. It is a piece of proprietary software which user must install in order to visit certain websites. However, such concern is less relevant in Korea where such requirement is commonplace.[citation needed]
