This is a documentation subpage for Template:NowCommons (see that page for the template itself).
It contains usage information, categories and other content that is not part of the original template page.
Shortcut:
{{subst:ncd}}

This template will categorise tagged files into Category:Images on Wikimedia Commons or to Category:Images with the same name on Wikimedia Commons if no parameters are given.

Please do not use this template directly - it is more convenient to use {{subst:ncd}} (or {{subst:ncd|Image:Filename.png}}) instead, which will categorise automatically by date.

This template is a self-reference. This template is not useful for Wikipedia:Template substitution.
