[edit] Lyrics
The entire song is an extended metaphor comparing a former lover breaking the singer's heart to a murder being committed. The song is widely recognized as having the sexiest reading of the Miranda Rights in any popular media.
"You have the right
to remain silent
anything you say
can and will be used against you
in a court of love."
