I'm putting the below here, on my own page, since wikipedia said it wasn't important enough to have an actual page. If they tell me I can't have this on my own user page, we're gonna have a problem.

Birdman is a growing game of minor inconvenience in which the goal is to Anti-birdman (See below) another person who plays the game. The person who was "anti-birdmaned" must then sit down. What is often held as the most important rule is "Once you play, you play for life."
[edit] Rules and Procedure
[edit] The Anti-Birdman
If a player makes eye contact with a person while that person is doing the Anti-Birdman, they must stop whatever they are doing (Eating, riding a bicycle, watching a movie, jogging) and sit down at the nearest point in their vacinity (Within reason). There is no set amount of time they must sit down for; they may get up immediately after sitting down.
[edit] The Birdman
The Birdman is the block in the game of Birdman. Any player can hold the Birdman for as long as they like, and they are immune to the effects of the Anti-Birdman. However, the Birdman must be used before making eye contact with someone doing the Anti-Birdman, or they must still sit down. However, some players find that using the Birdman can be too slow, so they avert their eyes from the player anti-birdmanning as an alternative. This is accepted, as only eye contact counts.
[edit] Length of game
A rule of birdman, held by many to be one of the most important, is, "Once you play, you play for life." A person is expected to sit down each and every time that they are anti-birdmanned (Except, of course, while blocking by using the Birdman), and to not do so is to permanently quit the game. Quitting receives much criticism and shame from other players.
[edit] Special situations
- If two players, both doing the anti-birdman, make eye contact, they both must sit down.
- If a person looks at a group of people who are doing the anti-birdman, they must sit down, get up, and sit down again for as many people are in the group.
- If a person is sitting down when anti-birdmanned, they must stand up and sit down again.
- Players may agree on certain "Safe zones", where the game is nullified. Such areas might include where it would be hazardous to sit down.
- Any form of the anti-birdman counts, such as reflections and pictures.
- You cannot anti-birdman yourself, you example, looking into a mirror or at a picture of yourself while anti-birdmanning does not require you to sit down.
- Only being "Anti-Birdmanned" by a person who has announced that they are playing counts. Being Anti-Birdmanned by a non-player does not require a player to sit down.
[edit] Variations
- Among some players, the terms of "Birdman" and "Anti-Birdman" are reversed.
- Some players hold the "lowest point" rule at different levels of importance. Sometimes it is said as, "lowest point you can see." Other players accept that the person may just sit down where they stand.
[edit] Honour
Birdman is a game based largely on honour. A person who has been Anti-Birdmanned could lie about whether they made eye contact or not, especially at farther distances, but that player will likely get a reputation among other players as being dishonourable. Sitting down is supposed to be only a minor inconvenience, so all players are expected to do so when necessary.
[edit] Side-effects
Some players of Birdman claim the following things happen when one plays Birdman for an extended period of time:
- Increased peripheral vision
- General paranoia
- A fear of raised elbows
- Weilding the Birdman before many situations, such as opening a door or turning around
[edit] Origin
The origin of the game of Birdman is not well-known, but seems to be related, even if only by name, to the character Birdman of Birdman and the Galaxy Trio.
