November 12: Birth of Bahá'u'lláh, a holy day in the Bahá'í Faith 1028 – Future Byzantine empress Zoe married Romanus Argyrus according to the wishes of the dying Constantine VIII. 1893 – Mortimer Durand, Foreign Secretary of British India, and Abdur Rahman Khan, Amir of Afghanistan, signed the Durand Line Agreement, establishing what is now the international border between Afghanistan and modern-day Pakistan. 1927 – Leon Trotsky (pictured) was expelled from the Communist Party, leaving Joseph Stalin in undisputed control of the Soviet Union. 1936 – The San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge, connecting San Francisco and Oakland, California across San Francisco Bay, opened to traffic. 1970 – The Oregon Highway Division attempted to destroy a rotting beached sperm whale near Florence, Oregon with explosives, leading to the exploding whale incident. New York Times says it happened on 11/12. [1] What's the source for 11/29? Perhaps we should contact National Park Service for date. --User:TMillerCA 03:42, 14 Nov 2003 (UTC)

[edit] Loch Ness Monster

The reference to phtographs being taken on this day in 1933 by Hugh Gray does not have any mention whatever in the article on the Loch Ness Monster. It may have been confused with photographs that were taken in 1934 and which were revealed in 1994 as fakes. Furry 08:00, 2 November 2005 (UTC)
