folly seems to be a type of novelty arch just as mimetic is. folly also seems to be a more common/popular term in the uk and commonwealth countries, but novelty is still an all encompassing universal english language term that is probably more suitable for a thorough article and accompanying categories. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.162.166.107 (talk • contribs)
- Oppose - These are two different building types. The "traditional"folly is a new structure built to look like a rustic castle or ruins. This might be considered a subset of novelty architecture. - Oppose - I agree with Dogears, the folly is most certainly a distinct architectural type and it should keep its own article. Madmedea 20:49, 3 January 2007 (UTC)
