Talk:Nova Scotia Lifeguard Service

The NSLS does not guard any beach in the Halifax Regional Municipality, Rather the HRM employs its own guards. I corrected the sentence to reflect this. -SECProto 21:37, 25 September 2005 (UTC)

I would say that the NSLS has more to do with Lifeguarding/Lifesaving than Canada. I'm not sure how to change the category, or what category to put this article in, but I'm sure there's something more appropriate out there.

[edit] Beaches in the HRM

Actually, the NSLS does supervise 4 beaches in the HRM - they are provincial park beaches (Rainbow Haven, Lawrencetown, Dollar Lake and Clam Harbour {Clam is on Saturdays & Sunday's only}), meaning they fall under the jurisdiction of the province and are therefore outsourced to the NSLS. HRM's lifeguards supervise beaches around all of the HRM (both within the traditional city boundaries as well as out in the rural parts of Halifax County), but not those that are considered to be provincial parks.
