[edit] Novica the Killer
During Adriatic League game, season 2005/06 between KK Partizan Belgrade and KK Hemofarm Vrsac in Pionir Hall, Belgrade, a fight between Partizan's and Hemofarm's players occurred. Although very young at that time Novica was one of the most active participants in this fight. Because of that he became very popular among Partizan fans Grobari. They nicknamed him Novica the Killer and often chant "Novica the Killer Oooooo!!!"
[edit] 3 pointer against Panathinaikos
In Euroleague season 2007/08 Novica became one of the most important Partizan players. Partizan played with European champions Panathinaikos BC in Pionir in their first match of the season, in the preliminary phase of the Euroleague. Velickovic had a chance to win the game for Partizan, but he didn't score the 3-point shot in the final seconds of the game. After the game, Novica cried in dressing room and promised to Partizan fans that "he will score 3 pointer next time".
In TOP16 phase of Euroleague, Partizan and Panathinaikos played a decisive game in Pionir for advancing to the quarter-finals. In one of the last Partizan attacks, Novica scored a 3-pointer for Partizan, over Panathinaikos center Michael Batiste. This was a decisive shot and Partizan came through to the quarter-finals. European champions were defeated in Pionir and they finished their season in Euroleague.
