- South Thailand insurgency: After meetings between former Malaysian PM Mahathir Mohamad and Thai PM Thaksin Shinawatra on Monday and Anand Panyarachun, National Reconciliation Commission head, on Tuesday in Bangkok. There are agreements that Mahathir will no longer suggesting for autonomy in the three southern provinces and they will stop using war of words. (The Nation)

- South Thailand insurgency: The Fourth Army Area Commander announces that martial law has been applied in the districts of Chana and Thepha of Songkhla province as the insurgents have attempted to expand the target territory to these districts which border three troubled provinces. (TNA)
- The government's spokesman, Suraphong Suebwonglee, denies a report by The Washington Post that Thailand has hosted one of CIA's black site prisons around the world for terrorist suspects. The Nation
