[edit] History
Nova Rossi was founded in 1984 by Cesare Rossi and his wife Graziosa Barchi in the Italian region of Franciacorta. Cesare Rossi started building model aircraft in the 1950’s. Rossi started to successfully modify existing model engines, which won Italian and worldwide competitions.
Throughout the 60’s Cesare Rossi manufactured his own engines using engineering and mechanical skills learnt from his father. With the success of manufacturing these engines with the aid of his brother, Cesare Rossi decided to start a family business. Along with his wife Graziosa Barchi, and two sons Mario and Sergio Rossi, Cesare Rossi formed Nova Rossi.
[edit] Products
Nova Rossi produce a range of engines, manifolds, tuned pipes, glow plugs and other accessories for all forms of radio controlled models. Nova Rossi hold a very high share of sales with radio controlled cars, boats and aircraft. Many world championships have been won in all of these classes, which have led to the company slogan “World champion engines” often found on decals and apparel.
Nova Rossi produce 60,000 engines a year[1], and 300,000 glow plugs a year[2]. Exports contribute to 90% of Nova Rossi sales[3]., showing a very high global interest. Cesare Rossi expects a boom in model use through Italy to help improve the percentage of engines currently sold in Italy, which currently stands at 10%.
[edit] Recent Changes
In December 2005, Mario Rossi, son of founder Cesare Rossi, left Nova Rossi. Mario Rossi has gone on to design his own engines for RC Cars produced by Italian RC giants GRP Gandini, and sold under various brands. In December 2006, Nova Rossi changed their company name from NOVA ROSSI snc to NOVA ROSSIWORLD s.r.l.
