[edit] Wikiprojects and guidelines

If Wikiprojects don't make policy, how did the film project's guidelines become part of the MOS? A set of guidelines that doesn't even recommend a "Themes" section, I might add? :) Awadewit (talk) 02:34, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

That has been the subject of a huge discusion at WT:MOS, last month I think. Short story; ONLY WP:MEDMOS and MILHIST submitted to Village pump and broad community consensus; for some very strange reason, MEDMOS was made to jump through hoops that no other Project has had to jump through. It got consensus, every other Project has just stuck the tag on there. Everyone else just tacks on guidelines, adds themselves to the main template, with no coordination and no process and no community consensus, and there is no coordination with the main MoS page. And disagreement on what to do about it. Having said that, the Film guidelines are a cut way above average. Attempts to regularize this situation at MoS have met resistance from Projects and PMAnderson, resulting in acrimonious discussions and no solution. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 04:05, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
