[edit] Suggested topics
- WP:NOT#MYSPACE and the prospect of Eternal September. Shifts in the community-makeup and systemic bias. Dorftrottel (talk) 15:25, April 22, 2008
- WP:COI, WP:NPOV (WP:DUE (WP:UNDUE)): At least some of our policies reflect the concerns of a small subset of the community rather than the best possible application of their spirit. Dorftrottel (talk) 15:25, April 22, 2008
- Fanatism, or: annex.wikia and Wookieepedia, battlestarwiki and Memory Alpha: If and how to go about episodes and characters and in-universe perspective, encyclopedic standards and inclusion threshold. (if enough people are interested, I think this would warrant a dedicated episode) Dorftrottel (canvass) 06:43, April 21, 2008
- A country-based meetup (as opposed to worldwide or city-based). Andjam (talk) 03:30, 9 May 2008 (UTC)
- Are requests for oversighting edits being implemented fast enough? Andjam (talk) 03:30, 9 May 2008 (UTC)
- What policies should Wikipedia have (or already do?) with regards to pedophiles? Should they be allowed to edit articles? Should they be allowed to network with other individuals, including those under the age of consent? Andjam (talk) 11:34, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Suggestions for dedicated Episodes
[edit] Esperanza/Concordia/MedCab
May 14, 2008 2300 UTC?
- Esperanza:Where have we come?
- Concordia
- Medcab:Is it becoming stagnant?

- I think these are valuable suggestions. Personally, I'd focus on one of those, or alternatively find an overarching theme. Maybe "non-process-oriented/alternative community efforts to facilitate collaboration"? Dorftrottel (complain) 07:53, April 24, 2008
[edit] Deletionism and inclusionism
- Deletionism. I would like to see if I can invite User:DGG to come and talk to us about deletionism. Perhaps we might devote a special show to this, separate from the Aussie show.--Filll (talk) 16:34, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
- Would that include inclusionism and the opposition of the two philosophies? Dorftrottel (troll) 17:01, May 3, 2008
- I am an inclusionist. So is Durova. So is DGG. If you know a prominent deletionist you want to invite at the same time, I think that would be excellent.--Filll (talk) 17:06, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
- Erm.. the idea was to have three inclusionists talk about deletionism? I think I'll wait for another episode then. Dorftrottel (canvass) 18:33, May 3, 2008

- I'll complement this will Inclusionism, maybe in the same episode? I'll see if I can invite some "deletionists" to join the episode. Dorftrottel (complain) 12:15, May 6, 2008
How about User:geogre?--Filll (talk) 16:13, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Creationism/Intelligent design and evolution
Can we get some proponents of each side on ? Serious members from the Discovery Institute? Maybe our own Wikipedian Wesley Elsberry (formerly of National Center for Science Education, important participant in the Dover v. Kitzmiller trial, currently giving the creationist politicians in the State of Florida with his blog, The Austringer?). Maybe Dembski? Maybe someone from AiG? Maybe Mark Mathis (publicity guy promoting Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed and author of some books on publicity and how to promote yourself and your business on the internet). Maybe get them on together, or separately if it is too explosive to get them on together. Some of these characters are pretty controversial.--Filll (talk) 13:30, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] A series dedicated to content editors
Scartol and Awadewit are working on putting together a series of episodes dedicated to issues that affect content contributors specifically. The first one is going to be on "how to improve your writing". Here are some of my other ideas:
-
- How to write a successful GA or FA article
- How to do good research/what's a reliable source
- How to effectively improve a controversial article
- How to do helpful peer reviews/GAC reviews/FAC reviews
- How to participate effectively in and/or run a WikiProject
- How to easily learn the MOS/how to reform the MOS
- How to add free and fair use images; how to edit images
- these ideas are great! - the sooner the better, I'd say.... good luck folks, and feel free to prod me if you'd like any technical help or anything like that.... Privatemusings (talk) 07:44, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Palestinian and Israeli conflict
Wikipedians and Wikipedia users from both sides of Palestinian-Israeli conflict, both Jews and Muslims, discuss ways of describing the conflict on Wikipedia. Some special guests arranged by User:Filll and User:Durova.--Filll (talk) 18:21, 17 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Alternative medicine articles
Successful and less successful editors who are proponents of alternative medicine. What is the difference between their approaches? Why is one more successful than the other? Special guests from homeopathy.--Filll (talk) 18:21, 17 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Wikipedia and its relation to academia
Anonymity, Wikipedia in the sciences and in the humanities, differences between Wikipedia principles and academia (User:Filll has the draft of an essay on this here). Special guests who are academics and researchers editing Wikipedia.--Filll (talk) 18:21, 17 May 2008 (UTC)

I've mentioned the 'show' to Anthere (currently Chair of the Board of the Foundation) - who will probably be available to come on at some time... I haven't mentioned it to Jimbo, but he might be interested in popping along at some point too? - I've got in the back of my mind the idea of waiting until the board elections are a little bit closer (but not too close...) and covering 'foundation' type subjects in a bit more depth then..... I'd certainly add sitting arb.s to the list above, and have had some discussions about availability and interest there, which hopefully will come to fruition before too long as well..... cheers, Privatemusings (talk) 03:03, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
- I'm interested in anything I could do by print, especially by email or on wiki. Or even chat, given enough time to respond. ——Martinphi ☎ Ψ Φ—— 03:35, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
