Template:Notice-history-incomplete

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This article's edit history is not complete. Some of the article text's edit history exists at a different location due to copying and pasting between articles. This may be a violation of the GFDL if proper attribution was not made in an edit summary or on the talk page. Please see Wikipedia:Merge and Wikipedia:How to break up a page for details of when such copying and pasting is acceptable and when it is not, and how to correctly attribute using links in the edit summaries.

This template is intended to be placed on an article to warn editors of possible intentional or unintentional violations of WP:GFDL due to cut and paste of material form other articles, for purpose of fixing.

It adds the article to Category:Possible GFDL violations.

Usage:

  1. {{Notice-history-incomplete}} - if the original page is not named, highly unrecommended, but allows for quick tagging while the source article is found.
  2. {{Notice-history-incomplete|ORIGINPAGE}} - if the original page is named, highly recommended to use this format. For single origin only.
  3. {{gfdlvio}} or {{gfdlvio|ORIGINPAGE}} can be used for brevity.
