[edit] John Allen's connection to the school?
Does anyone know Catholic journalist John Allen's connection to Notre Dame High School?
He mentioned NDHS in one of his book introductions -- I think he thanked the journalism department or something like that. From his phrasing, it sounded as if he had been a student there in the 1990's. But I think that's impossible -- he's almost certainly older than that. So I was wondering if maybe he was on the faculty there?
He is now world-renowned as a journalist who covers the Catholic church, so I thought his connection to NDHS should be mentioned on the Notre Dame High School page and on the John L. Allen, Jr. page. - Lawrence King 05:21, 31 January 2006 (UTC) (an alumnus of Crespi!)

He was the journalism teacher (and I believe an English teacher) there for several years during the over 9000s. He was also a vice principal for a time. I was a student there during the period. Interesting guy.
FURTHER INFORMATION: John Allen taught English and Journalism at Notre Dame HS (Sherman Oaks, CA) in the early 1990's. He was also moderator/adviser for the school newspaper. He was Vice Principal for the 1994-95 and 1995-96 school years. He stepped down from the VP post for the 1996-1997 school year, and eventually resigned from NDHS during that school year (around January, 1997). He briefly wrote free-lance articles for various Catholic publications before landing a permanent position with the National Catholic Reporter. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.245.193.91 (talk) 14:22, 20 October 2007 (UTC)

Subject of hundreds of articles including 2 front-page appearances in the Wall Street Journal and referenced heavily in the 2002 bestselling business book Bamboozled at the Revolution.
- References need to be supplied but what you write above does not, in itself, make the person notable. --David Shankbone 16:46, 25 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Jerry Livitsanos - notable?
Someone keeps putting back Jerry Livitsanos but without a source or wikipedia article, so there is no way to know if he actually went to the school and if he is notable. Please provide sources or his name should be removed. Thanks. AliveFreeHappy (talk) 07:13, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
