Nottingham South is a borough constituency represented in the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. It elects one Member of Parliament (MP) by the first past the post system of election. The seat is currently represented by Alan Simpson (Labour) who has held the seat since 1992. The area is the most diverse of the three Nottingham constituencies containing large areas of council housing in Clifton and Radford but also some of Nottingham’s wealthiest suburbs such as Wollaton and Wilford. It is the only Nottingham City seat that could potentially change hands and even then only in a good year for the Conservatives.
