Nottingham Arkwright Street railway station
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Nottingham Arkwright Street is a closed railway station in Nottingham, UK.
Nottingham Arkwright Street was built by the Great Central Railway, and remained open after Nottingham Victoria closed to be redeveloped into a shopping centre. Consequently, it was the northern terminus of many trains entering and leaving Nottingham from the south along the route. The route travelled through southern Nottingham along an expensive brick viaduct which has now since been demolished. The station was situated on top of the brick viaduct; it was mostly built of wood.
