Notoacmea subtilis is a minute species of sea snail or true limpet, a marine gastropod mollusc in the family Acmaeidae.

[edit] Distribution
This limpet is endemic to the east coast of the North Island of New Zealand, north of the Hauraki Gulf, including around Mayor Island.

This species is found at depths of between 18 and 55 m.

The shell is similar to Notoacmea daedala but always thinner, and uniformly pale buff, ornamented with thin radiating brown lines that do not form into a netted pattern.
The shell length is up to 2.5 mm, width 1.5 mm, and height 0.05 mm.
