"Nothing Like the Rain" was the fourth and last single from the 2 Unlimited album Real Things. The single was not released in the UK, possibly because it was the only ballad that 2 Unlimited ever released and the record company may not have felt that a ballad would have done so well for the British market. At the time of the recording, there was already debate about whether the band would be continuing. The first line of the song, by lyricist Michael Leahy, opens, "Let me ask a question, where do we go from here?". The reply came in the chorus: "And we won't give up, and we won't give in/When there is so much left to do".
