"Nothin' Song" is a song by grunge group Alice in Chains. It is track 10 on their self-titled album.
The song appears to have lyrics about nothing, or more so not having anything to record.[clarify] Jerry Cantrell, in a 1996, said of the song:
"[It] Started with nothing, just throwing around ideas. Layne doesn't have anything making a whole song about. He wonders if he should stop, but he can't. He can't escape the "nothin' song", Layne will always be thinking about it until he finishes it. Finally when he has something and takes a break, he comes back and his idea's are lost. Sam threw away his "cake" or best idea. The songs sound fits into the album well."[1]
